24h Bahrain 2016 – podium
The race flagged off at 4pm on Friday afternoon and the chequered flag came down a full day later on Saturday. Action was followed by the podium ceremony.
Pro karter Ramez Azzam spearheaded the Batelco Drag965 Racing team. He shared duties in their RT8 Sodikart with Mohammed Mattar, Piers Walsh and Vincent Fraisse.
Azzam clocked the event’s overall fastest lap of one minute 12.080 seconds.
Their victory made it a clean sweep for Batelco Racing in this year’s Bahrain SWS Endurance Championship.
Taking second place overall was Mahla BRM, featuring Mohamed Faqihi, Khaled Alsaei, Ali Baslar, Abdulla Buhindi and Hussain Hassan.
In third overall was EKT Portugal, whose team comprised of Ruben Conceicao, Bernardo Ferreira, Ruben Costa and Miguel Patricio.
